Berkshire County Sports, Sonning Lane , Reading
Woodley Saints FC is well known for running one of the most popular 6-a-side tournaments in the Thames Valley, receiving entries from clubs from a wide area. Some of the reasons for the tournament's popularity include:
- Superb organisation from a very experienced team used to coping with 3000 footballers, 3000 spectators and over 1000 games during the weekend.
- The busy programme always runs to time!
- There are only short breaks (typically 30 minutes) between matches.
- Excellent playing facilities.
- A reputation as a sporting and fun tournament run in a friendly atmosphere.
- All referees are fully qualified.
- A and B tournaments at most age groups allowing teams to compete against those of similar ability.
- All teams qualify for the knock-out stages at Under 9s and above.
- Over 1500 quality individual medals and trophies presented.
- Excellent first aid services.
The tournament schedule has now been published on our website. Please take a look at Schedule Page to find out which competition your team is playing in. Study your teams schedule so that you understand the format of the competition, including when and where your games will take place. For many age groups there is more than one competition. In these cases the A competition is intended for stronger teams and the B, C and D competitions for intermediate and weaker teams. Please respect this in your team selections.
Please complete a Team Registration Form, available from Team Registration Form Page and hand it in on arrival at the registration tent.
Familiarise yourself with the tournament rules at www.woodleysaints.com/sixaside/tournament-rules.html and the administration rules at www.woodleysaints.com/sixaside/administration-rules.html before coming to the tournament.
Travel directions and maps are available at www.woodleysaints.com/sixaside/directions.html
If for any reason your team is unable to play, please contact your age-group administrator so that we can contact a wait-listed team of which there are over 100 across the age groups.
If, on the day of your competition, you find you can't make it, please ring or text the Tournament Director, Alan Brown, on his mobile (07876 434507) as, given sufficient warning, we may well be able to adjust the tournament schedule to give affected teams an extra match.
Arrival and Registration
Managers should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before their first scheduled game and report to the administration tent to hand over a completed team registration form. Please allow plenty of time to park.Reporting Results
The winning team or, in the event of a draw, the team named first in the schedule, is responsible for taking the completed referee's result slip immediately to the scorers in the administration tent. Promptness is particularly important after the last round of league matches as late results may cause the start of the knock-out stage to be delayed. Missing result slips may have to be scored as 0-0 draws.Disputes
Any disputes, or situations not covered by the rules, should be raised by team managers or referees with the tournament director.Trophies and Presentations
For Under 7s and 8s, each player will be awarded an individual medal. Managers are asked to collect their team.s medals from the administration tent before their last matches and make the presentations themselves. There will be a presentation area available for this purpose should you wish to use it.
For Under 9s and above, all players in the two squads reaching each Play-off Final and Consolation Knock-out Final will be awarded individual trophies. There is also a team trophy for the winner of each main Play-off. Trophies will be presented immediately after each final as soon as both finalists have assembled by the presentation area.
