Woodley Saints Six-a-side Soccer Tournament

Woodley Saints FC is well known for running one of the most popular 6-a-side tournaments in the ThamesValley, receiving entries from clubs from a wide area. Some of the reasons for the tournament's popularity include:
- Superb organisation from a very experienced team used to coping with 3000 footballers, 3000 spectators and over 1000 games during the weekend.
- The busy programme always runs to time!
- There are only short breaks (typically 30 minutes) between matches.
- Excellent playing facilities.
- A reputation as a sporting and fun tournament run in a friendly atmosphere.
- All referees are fully qualified.
- A and B tournaments at most age groups allowing teams to compete against those of similar ability.
- All teams qualify for the knock-out stages at Under 9s and above.
- Over 1500 quality individual medals and trophies presented.
- Excellent first aid services.
This year there will be competitions for age groups from Under 7 (i.e. Under 7 on 01.09.07) to Under 16 as follows:
Saturday 21st June: Under 7s, 9s; Boys Under 11s, 13s, 15s; Girls Under 11s, 13s, 15s
Sunday 22nd June: Under 8s, 10s; Boys Under 12s, 14s, 16s; Girls Under 12s, 14s
Teams at Under 7s and 8s will play 6 or 7 non-competitive league matches against teams of similar ability. All players will receive a medal.
Teams at Under 9s and above will play 4 or 5 league matches and then enter a knock-out stage against teams who have had similar success. Individual trophies or medals will be presented to all winners and runners-up in both the main play-offs and consolation competitions. Team trophies, to keep, will be presented to the winners of the main play-offs.
Under 7s will play 7-a-side with squads of up to 9 players. Under 8s and above will play 6-a-side with squads of up to 8 players.
If you wish to enter, please complete an entry form and return it to the tournament organiser together with your entry fee of £30.00 per team.
At most age groups there will be both an A tournament for stronger teams and a B tournament for other teams. At some age groups there may even be C and D competitions. You can indicate any preference you have on the entry form. Entries are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. The closing date for entries is 31st March 2008 although a few places may still be available after this date. You will receive written confirmation of your entry, together with details of your team's match schedule, by 2nd June. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified promptly and placed on a waitlist.
