Walking Football, a slow-paced version of the beautiful game aimed at the over 55s or post-operative patients over 50 (no upper limit), is designed to help men and women keep an active lifestyle irrespective of their age. It is also being increasingly recognised by the medical profession as eminently suitable for the second stage of post-operative recovery (with medical approval).

As might seem obvious, Walking Football prohibits players from running or indeed jogging while the ball is in play and is also non-contact with no slide tackles allowed.

Some basic coaching will be provided but not too much – the whole emphasis is on fitness and fun!!!

Walking Football is one of the many activities available as part of the SHINE over 50s programme, for more information, please click here.
